Neighborhood: Stadium District
Home to the stadiums where the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks, and Sounders play, this area is in the northern most section of the SODO district. SODO, which stands for South of Downtown, is the city’s industrial center and is located just south of Pioneer Square and the International District neighborhoods. Businesses, such as Starbucks Coffee Company, have their corporate headquarters in the district and it is also home to creative artist lofts and art galleries, as well as the manufacturing and industrial activities that go on in the area.
The recently created Stadium District Concept Plan illustrates the future of the area and how we, as a community, can better capitalize on the large public investment in the stadiums. Imagine having a neighborhood that rivals Gaslamp in San Diego, SoMa in San Francisco and LoDo in Denver?
